Reverseaction Project Proyecto REVERSEACTION

Reverse engineering collective action: complex technologies in stateless societies Ingeniería inversa de la acción colectiva: tecnologías complejas en sociedades no estatales

Project Overview Descripción del proyecto

People of all kinds can collaborate voluntarily on collective and ambitious goals. Archaeological evidence for spectacular goldwork, sophisticated textiles, or the long-distance transport of exotic materials in societies without kings or emperors provides proof of this point. But how can complex technological systems be sustained in the absence of coercive political administrations? The REVERSEACTION team is trying to answer this question. We are employing archaeological science methods in collaboration with environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, management studies and crafts, to provide new perspectives on collective action.

Rosie in the Cambridge Archaeology Pitt-Rivers Laboratory, processing #3dscans of stone matrices from the @Museo del oro! Rosie and Kate took these scans during our visit to Colombia in September, and they are now being turned into digital 3D models. These models will hopefully contribute to our understanding of how they were made and used in gold-alloy artefact production 💪 The finished 3D models will be free to view on Sketchfab #fridayfunday #digitalarchaeology #openresearchUsing: Artec 3D ...
