Rosie wins two Council for British Archaeology Archaeological Achievement Awards
Our very own Research Assistant, Rosie Crawford, has won two awards at this year’s Archaeological Achievement Awards ceremony, held in Cardiff. Rosie is the mind behind much of our project’s social media (though she admits she cannot take credit for the legendary REVERSEACTION TV…) but did you know that she also has own social media presence, JustALittleRoo? JustALittleRoo is a free online platform spread across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, where Rosie shares her experiences in Archaeology and academia as a State-Educated, previously Pupil-Premium student. You can find her ‘vlog’ of our 2023 Advisory Board Meeting in Bogotá, Colombia here.
For her Public Dissemination work via social media over the previous eight years, Rosie was awarded the 2024 Public Dissemination or Presentation Award: “This is a great example of how a small and targeted project can have such a big social impact and bring archaeology to new audiences” – Archaeological Achievement Awards Judges.
Rosie was also awarded the 2024 Early Career Archaeologist Award, along with joint-winner Kieran Manchip (Archaeology Scotland). Sponsored by the Royal Archaeological Institute, this award celebrates outstanding contributions of Early Career Archaeologists towards archaeological work, research, public dissemination, collaboration and inclusion. The Awards Judges wrote, “the passion for making archaeology accessible comes through strongly in all she does“, and we couldn’t agree more.
Congratulations Rosie!
